When I walk by a city bus shelter, I see it to be more than just a public space for getting on and off the bus safely. I see the waiting time in between to be more than just something that has to be shortened. For me the bus shelter is the only public space lining a bustling city street where people can take a break, meet someone familiar or can be a place to simply pass some time. It takes up a small space relative to the size of the city, but things happen here too.

I decided to position myself across a bus shelter with my camera to observe for a few weeks. What emerged during my stay was not so much a record of the same people showing up waiting for the bus but a recurrence of activities by different people that seem to connect them all - bringing a rhythm to this space. The Wait (2023) reveals that the waiting time and use of a space at a bus shelter is in fact an activity of the agency in of itself.
